I like to joke that Leo Valentine is my jazz teacher. I’ve taken some formal jazz lessons over the years, but my friendship and musical partnership with Leo has by far exposed me to the most corners of the loosely-defined jazz world. Because of this, I’m proud to have contributed my drumming to Leo’s debut record Emergence.

We spent countless nights staying up late listening to seemingly disparate musical styles to hone in on the creative direction for this project: an ambitiously gorgeous combination of a string quartet and grooving jazz combo all underpinned by modern soul-trap synthscapes.
